Summary: This position is responsible for the general cleaning, set up, and maintenance of the Seminary building before and after events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are considered essential to the job. With or without reasonable accommodation, qualified individuals must have the ability to:

  • Fulfill requests for event set-up and tear down of tables, chairs, and other equipment, moving furniture, as well as cleaning before and after events.
  • Provide custodial support when needed by cleaning/vacuuming/mopping floors/carpets/floor mats; dusting and polishing tables/chairs/furniture; and cleaning whiteboards and trays and other items as needed.
  • Perform custodial assistance when needed by emptying all garbage and recycling containers; stocking Facilities closets with supplies; checking and replacing restroom supplies; and moving furniture as necessary for cleaning.
  • Provide maintenance assistance, including but not limited to: repairs to systems such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, preventative maintenance, etc., as well as assisting with turnovers, carpentry, and sprinkler repairs; painting; cleaning; and repair of other items as needed.
  • Provide Lobby Attendant coverage at the front desk as needed..
  • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Education and/or Experience: At least 18 years old; related experience a plus.

Language Skills: Must be able to read, speak and understand English to effectively communicate and to safely perform work. Ability to read and understand safety information and procedures.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide basic numbers and fractions.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to twist, bend, move furniture, equipment, climb stairs, and, lift up to 50 lbs.
