Summary: This position is responsible for providing audio visual support for classes and special events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The following duties are considered essential to the job. With or without reasonable accommodation, qualified individuals must have the to perform the following duties:
    • Ensure essential classroom and other event operations by assisting faculty and staff in audio-visual setup.
    • Provide setup and on-going support utilizing Zoom or other webinar software to facilitate distance learning goals (remote access classrooms).
    • Perform duties as an in-class tech to facilitate dual-modality classroom instruction (in-person and remote access class).
    • Assist with presentation and music setup for in-class presentations.
    • Maintain operation of classroom audio/visual equipment.
    • Set up/break down Chapel equipment, such as microphones, cables, and musical equipment.
    • Operate soundboard and other equipment as necessary or required for events.
    • Interface with faculty and staff and maintain master AV calendar to understand classroom or event needs.
    • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must be at least 18 years old; A valid CA driver’s license is required. Experience with the following is a plus: Zoom conferencing software, AV presentation systems, digital audio mixing boards, wired and wireless microphones.

Language Skills: English required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, students, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and experience with MS Office Suite software (PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word).

Other Abilities and Skills: Must be self-motivated; Ability to pay attention to detail and follow directions.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to twist, bend, climb stairs, move furniture and equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to focus.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a person encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is usually quiet, though moderate noise can occur at meetings and social events. It is a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
