Dr. Adam Groza spoke at the President's Convocation, delivering a message on Cultivating Courage for Faithful Ministry. "'In Christ, God has given us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self-control,' Paul writes in 2 Timothy 1:7. Now many of us hear those verses, and immediately we're sort of overwhelmed with the reality of our own fear and the reality of our own failure. And if that's the case, it will encourage you to know that Jesus's command to take courage comes in a context in which He is warning the disciples that they will fail Him. He is telling the disciples they will scatter to their homes. They will abandon Him. And it's in that context of their failure and of the harshness of the world that Jesus says, 'Take courage, I have overcome the world'."
