Summary:

Daniel Bishop, lead pastor of The Grove Community Church, spoke on the importance of godly men fulfilling their biblical role of servant leadership in the image of Christ. "A real good man, according to God's word, acknowledges that he can't and he needs God's help. He needs God's help. That takes courage. I think one of the most courageous things a man can do ever is just confess sin. How hard is it to confess sin? That takes courage. Weakness is hiding it. Like "I don't have any sin, I don't have any problems. I'm a pastor, I'm doing good. I'm in seminary." It doesn't take courage to do that. It takes courage to say "You know what, I'm actually struggling, I need help right now." I need help right now. Godly men are courageous enough to show their weakness and need for God. The godly man has courage to confess his sins, to die to himself and live for the purposes of God. And courage, at times, in this day and age, it'll feel like defeat. God calls us to do things that many times feels like defeat. Look at what God called His son to do. To go to the cross and die. That felt like defeat and I'd say that's the manliest thing that's ever been done in the history of this world. Be courageous and do the will of God. Even if you don't win in culture, men be willing to be faithful to what God calls you to do."
