"It's as if in this passage God is showing His people the big Assyrians. When the Assyrians are big and God is small, and then He tells them "I want you to look past them for a moment. Look at someone who is bigger and behind them. The Majestic One. Look at Him and think of the classic example of the bullies coming down the alley, you're pinned in nowhere to go. You're afraid. You're trembling. Is this it? And then you look past and you see Dad coming behind them. You look past the real fears and you see Dad behind. You see the Father behind. Look at your fears, and then you must look past them to a God who loves you, who is powerful, and who is the Marvelous One."
