| Supervisory Responsibilities |
Manages direct reports and coordinates assigned staff; responsible for their overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Seminary's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. |

| Qualifications | To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong commitment to the mission of Gateway Seminary, and be an active member of a Southern Baptist Church. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Education and/or Experience: D.Min. or Ph.D. in a theological-related field and/or church leadership; experience in pastoral ministry, experience in curriculum development, accreditation, program review, outcomes assessment, development and implementation of innovative academic programs, and budget management. Language Skills: English is required. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to read and interpret academic documents such as customer guidelines and procedure information. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organizations. Ability to communicate effectively and specifically to address problems with management. Ability to lead and influence people or groups of people toward the achievement of goals. Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform advanced quantitative analysis and calculate key financial ratios. Able to read and assess published financial statements. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and regulations/laws furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form pertaining to the industry. Strong negotiation skills. Computer Skills: Knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Microsoft Access Database; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word); must have an aptitude for learning and work with computer applications (Jenzabar). Time Management Ability: Ability to consistently meet critical time deadlines in preparing financial reports, paying taxes, and managing cash flow. Other Abilities and Skills: Must be available for travel. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, though moderate noise can occur at meetings and social events.
