Summary: Campus Patrol personnel serve the student housing population and property by implementing the Seminary’s Campus Patrol program. Candidates must be a current (or future) resident in student housing, and enrolled or be the spouse of a student enrolled in a current (or future) degree program at Gateway Seminary.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The following duties are considered essential to the job. With or without reasonable accommodation, qualified individuals must have the ability to:
    • Patrol student housing and report any suspicious activities to the proper authorities.
    • Assist residents and visitors with issues related to safety and security.
    • Maintain activities log during assigned shift.
    • Assist in the development of creating and improving security measures throughout student housing.
    • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Possess a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.

Language Skills: English required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, students, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, climb, and balance. The employee should possess manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items; works with fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials. The employee should be capable of light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature with the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
