TCF is a largely autonomous ministry within the church but is accountable to the church Elders. TCF has its own teachers and budget. It is financially responsible for a missionary family in Nepal. Together with members from the main Church TCF members made fourteen team trips to the villages of an unreached people group in China during 2013-2018.
TCF has been led by two couples who have outside financial support, for most of these years. The founding couple, Jim & Jeri White, and their fellow friends, Bill & Pam Kennedy. These two couples were committed to discipleship over the last thirty years. In 2019, Bill Kennedy passed away and entered the home in heaven. In 2020, Jeri joined with Father in heaven. After the death of Jeri, Jim retired from the Navigators and resigned from the TCF leadership position. Bill’s wife, Pam, has continued her discipleship with our Chinese women, including monthly Prayer Breakfasts and one-on-one mentoring. She also involves the events organized by the Oklahoma Navigators. Jenny Lin, a Chinese-American sister, has encouraged a group of believers to learn how to study and teach God’s Word using Precept materials from the American Bible teacher, Kay Arthur.
Below is the summary of the current TCF structure. For the past three years, TCF has been led by a Steering Team consisting of three mature Chinese men and a volunteer team of three elders from the church’s congregation. On Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 am, a Chinese brother, who also leads the music worship, teaches a Sunday School class in Mandarin. From 11 am to 12 pm, a retired American professor has been teaching books of the Bible expository to the believers in TCF for the past five years using bilingual PowerPoint slides. During the same time, a retired American couple leads an evangelistic class called “Discovery” which is designed for non- believers. They also offer one-on-one teaching/meeting virtually with Chinese scholars who previously visited TCF and went back to China. Usually, there are bi-weekly bible studies at the church right after a Chinese meal on Fridays.
Every spring, TCF steering team leads the organization of a 4-day retreat at a Christian Ranch featuring morning and evening lectures by invited speakers and testimonies among TCF members, with all kinds of fun activities in the afternoon. Typically, more than a hundred of TCF members attend the retreat.
For outreach activities, TCF’s Outreach Team plans community outreach events, such as Easter Day egg hunting, picnics, one-day trip to local scenic places and other family-oriented events. In addition, a local Chinese Chess Club with TCF members hosts their weekly activities at the church on Wednesday nights. Finally, a two-months summer soccer camp is largely welcomed by the local community, especially the Chinese families with school-age children.
