The Worship & Youth Pastor at South Peoria Baptist Church will oversee all music-related activities, creating an atmosphere that promotes and invites true, Biblical worship during weekly services and special events. The Worship & Youth Pastor will also be responsible for the coordination and implementation of a comprehensive, Christ-focused ministry for students in 7th – 12th grade.

Key Duties and Responsibilities – Worship:
• Works with Pastoral staff to strategize service flow, media needs, and song selection for both traditional and contemporary worship services.
• Leads weekly church worship services & once per month evening services.
• Recruits, schedules, and supervises praise team/band and sound booth volunteers. Coordinates mid-week and pre-service rehearsals.
• Trains instrumentalists and vocalists as needed. Shows appropriate pastoral care and appreciation to all team members.
• Develops and manages first impressions team. Oversees stage design and updates seasonally as needed.
• Maintains instruments, audio/visual equipment, and other technologies. Identifies repair needs as necessary.
• Assists in preparing the Worship budget for presentation to finance committee each year.

Key Duties and Responsibilities – Youth:
• Study scripture and work with Associate Pastor to prepare age-appropriate small group questions that encourage Biblical literacy, sound interpretation, and life application.
• Coordinate and facilitate a weekly Youth program and special events.
• Identify, train, and equip student leaders and volunteers.
• Plan games, special activities, etc. to facilitate fellowship and encourage healthy, God-honoring friendships amongst students.
• Encourage and equip parents/guardians in the discipleship of their students.
• Coordinate and attend annual youth camp. Plan outreach events, retreats, mission trips, etc.
• Assists in preparing the Youth budget for presentation to finance committee each year.

Qualifications:
• Strong Biblical background, prayer life & relationship with Jesus Christ for at least 5 years.
• Must possess & adhere to all Biblical qualifications for Elder/Overseer.
• Musical talent including the ability to sing, harmonize, play an instrument & read music.
• Interest & leadership experience with Youth and/or Children.
• Ability to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance card & pass a background check.
• Possess & maintain a valid Arizona State driver’s license.
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in ministry-related field preferred but not required.
