Senior Pastor - Full Time

Shadow Mountain Church is prayerfully seeking a senior pastor to lead our church with an emphasis on Biblically-sound teaching, outreach, discipleship, fellowship, and prayer.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Encourage the church to grow in Christian maturity through expository preaching and teaching with practical application of God’s truth as revealed in the entire Bible
• Model dependence upon God while shepherding and serving the body of Christ
• Shepherding duties include: Biblically-sound teaching, intentional evangelism, discipleship, visitation, counseling, prayer ministry, and pastoral care
• Officiate at Biblically-aligned weddings, funerals, and parent-child dedications
• Lead in the ordinances of baptism and communion
• Oversee the administrative and pastoral staff, and provide guidance, performance evaluations, and regular feedback for their ministry roles
• Support the family pastor in growing the youth ministry
• Biblically address potential conflicts to maintain unity in the church and to foster healthy and loving relationships among the church staff and within the church body
• Work collaboratively with the elders and ministry leaders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Meets the Biblical requirements for a pastor/elder (1 Timothy 3:-1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:2-3)
• Demonstrated experience in the effective leadership and management of church staff
• Ability to effectively delegate ministry tasks to family pastor, elders, administrative staff, and ministry leaders
• Biblical worldview
• Unafraid to speak Biblical truth to social and cultural issues
• Ordained and licensed for ministry by a conservative evangelical church
• Agreement with Shadow Mountain Church statement of faith posted on https://smchurch.net/our-beliefs
• Minimum of five years of experience in pastoral ministry
• Bachelor’s degree from a conservative evangelical university or divinity school
• Submit to background check and credit check for candidate and wife

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of five years of experience as a senior pastor
• Master’s degree from a conservative evangelical seminary or divinity school
• Married to a supportive wife who is active in ministry and a model to other women in the church

For nearly 50 years, Shadow Mountain Church of Gardnerville, Nevada has been on a mission to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to our community and beyond. We are a Bible-centered church with an average Sunday attendance of 225. We meet in a modern, yet traditional-looking, debt-free 9000 square foot church building on six acres facing the towering Sierra Nevada mountain range. We are located in a rural agricultural community less than an hour from Reno and 25 minutes from year-round recreational activities at Lake Tahoe.
