Samuel Harris Memorial Baptist Church is a small, country church located in Pittsylvania County, VA (approximately 3 miles outside of the town of Chatham). Located approximately 1 hour from Roanoke and Lynchburg, VA and Greensboro, NC. It was started in the 1960’s as a mission and currently has 25-30 in active attendance and participation. We may be small in number, but are a big family that loves God and is looking for a Pastor that can help us to grow individually and as a church.
Responsibilities
The Pastor would be responsible for leading and guiding the church through the following methods:
1. Providing Sunday morning sermon at the 11:00 service.
2. Conducting a Sunday evening Bible Study.
3. Attending and supporting other special church activities as needed.
4. Visiting members who are sick, homebound, or those in nursing or assisted living homes.
5. Building relationships with all church members.
6. Share God’s message in a relatable, down-to-earth way that the average person can understand.
Qualifications
1. Believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God.
2. Requires ordination by a Baptist Church.
3. Prefer some previous experience serving in a leadership position at a church.
