Position Summary:
We are seeking a spiritually mature and passionate Youth Pastor to lead and disciple students from 6th through 12th grade. The Youth Pastor must be a born-again believer with a Christ-like servant heart, who can teach the Bible clearly and faithfully from a fundamental perspective. The ideal candidate will cultivate authentic relationships with students and parents, model a vibrant Christian walk, and build a youth ministry rooted in Scripture, prayer, and gospel transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership
• Teach and disciple youth with sound, Scripture-based lessons that align with the church’s fundamental doctrine (Baptist Faith & Message 2000).
• Encourage youth in their relationship with Christ and personal application of biblical truth.
• Lead by example in prayer, worship, and personal holiness.
Youth Ministry Oversight
• Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, and special events.
• Organize outreach opportunities, service projects, and youth retreats or mission trips.
• Ensure all youth activities are Christ-centered, spiritually enriching, and conducted with safety and integrity: Sunday Worship, Sunday Bible Study, mid-week Bible Study/Discipleship, Retreat, Lock-In, Short-term Mission.
Volunteer Leadership
• Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers who assist with youth ministry.
• Foster a culture of servant leadership and discipleship among the youth team.
Parent and Family Partnership
• Partner and communicate regularly with parents and support them in discipling their teens.
• Offer biblical resources and occasional parent-focused sessions to encourage godly homes.
Administrative Duties
• Manage youth ministry budget and schedule.
• Maintain attendance and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Coordinate with pastoral staff for church-wide ministry alignment.
Qualifications:
• A born-again Christian with a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear testimony of faith.
• Agreement with the church’s fundamental theological convictions and statement of faith (Baptist Faith & Message 2000).
• A heart for reaching and discipling youth to be Christ-like empowered by the Holy Spirit.
• Strong ability to teach Scripture faithfully and relationally.
• Experience in youth ministry preferred, with leadership and relational skills.
• A Christ-like example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity (1 Timothy 4:12).
• -Holds a degree or is in training to receive a degree in ministry, theology, or a related field.
