ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Director of Church Operations is a high-capacity leader responsible for ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly while empowering ministry personnel and teams. Under the guidance of the Senior Pastor, this role serves as the operational backbone of the church, ensuring the effective oversight of all daily functions.This position blends church operations
with ministry leadership.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY:
Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Verde Valley (Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Camp Verde, Sedona, Prescott Valley) to fulfill the responsibilities of this role effectively. We are located in the heart of Arizona—Cottonwood, AZ. Just 20 minutes from Sedona, sixty minutes from Flagstaff, and ninety minutes from Phoenix. The Verde Valley is ideally situated above the heat of the desert and below the cold of Arizona’s high country. Surrounded by the red rocks of Sedona to the northeast and Mingus Mountain to the southwest, its low elevation of 3,300’ and moderate climate are enjoyed year-round. There are tons of outdoor activities—state
parks, historic sites, and enticing attractions offer something for all ages, including hiking, biking, river rafting, bird watching, and more.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Communication & Correspondence
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the congregation, contractors, and vendors
• Manage mass communication platforms (email lists, texting systems)
• Utilize digital tools to serve the congregation
• Maintain and update the church website and directory
• Draft and distribute church communications (weekly bulletins, newsletters, email updates, and announcements)
2. Office Operations
• Manage multiple church calendars
• Handle and respond to inquiries received by phone, email, and in person
• Maintain digital and physical filing systems
• Order and track office supplies
• Oversee use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.)
3. Membership & Records Management
• Create and implement a church assimilation process
• Maintain membership digital databases (contact information, attendance records, baptisms, weddings, funerals)
• Track new visitors and coordinate subsequent follow-up communication.
• Prepare reports for leadership (membership trends, attendance, etc.)
4. Worship Service & Ministry Support
• Prepare weekly service materials (bulletins, slides, and sermon notes)
• Coordinate logistics for worship services, weddings, memorial services, and special events
• Communicate with ministry leaders
5. Hospitality & Congregational Care Coordination
• Welcome visitors and provide information about the church
• Coordinate meal trains, benevolence requests, or care ministries
• Assist with communication during crises (e.g., illness, funerals)
Key Skills Required:
• 3-5 years of church and/or ministry leadership, operations, and administration experience
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Apple computers and software
• Organizational and multitasking ability
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Discretion and confidentiality
• Familiarity with church management software
• Basic accounting and database skills
• Proactive problem solver
• Perform other duties as assigned
