Music and Worship Minister Pastor

Classification: Ministerial Staff

Summary of Duties:

The Minister of Music and Worship is responsible to the church to maintain, develop, and promote a comprehensive multi-generational music and worship ministry. This aligns with the mission and ministry of the church.
• Plan and direct music for rehearsals and services coordinated by the church. Assist the Pastor in planning, conducting, and evaluating the worship services of the church
• Plan and administer general record-keeping and budget for the music ministry
• Prayerfully cast vision, plan strategically, and implement programming for the music ministry, consistent with the vision and mission of the church
• Cultivate opportunities for church members to be involved missionally through music both inside and outside the church
• Pray faithfully for the members of the church, families, and the worship of this church
• Attend regular staff meetings and work cooperatively with church staff and leadership
• Participate in committees or meetings as assigned by the Pastor
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor

Qualifications:

• Affirmation of the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
• Must have a strong vocal presence and convey a spirit of worship
• Must support blended, multi-generational styles of music, ranging from traditional hymns to current trends
• Must select congregational songs that are grounded and rooted in scripture
• Ability to recruit, organize, coordinate, and motivate musicians and tech team members

Requirements:

• A passion for Christ and the ministry to which God has called you to
• Completed or pursuing BS/BA degree
• A Master's Degree from a Theological Seminary is preferred
• Prior ministry experience is preferred
• Excellent organizational and people skills
