Pay Package: $55,000 - 65,000 (DOE) includes housing allowance, health benefits and retirement

ABOUT
Puna Baptist Church (PBC) is a Southern Baptist Church in Pahoa, Hawaii (which is on the Big Island of Hawaii) and is a member of Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention (HPBC) and the Big Island Baptist Association(BIBA). Our Pastor, Alan Tamashiro, has devotedly pastored Puna Baptist Church since 1998.

The purpose of Puna Baptist Church is to reach out to the people of the Puna District and share God's love with them through evangelism and ministry, to disciple believers, and provide experiences of worship and fellowship.

JOB DESCRIPTION (specific needs of (PBC))

The Associate Pastor will be responsible to:
lead the church to reach out to unbelievers and disciple believers, through the areas of youth, families, outreach, discipleship and worship.
assist with daily operations, providing support for the church and its leaders and report to the Lead Pastor.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
A Degree from a Seminary (or equivalent) or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a pastor position.
Ability to work well with the pastor and other church leadership.
Ability to connect with people and promote a warm and caring culture, inside and outside the church.
Possess good listening skills with effective clear communications both orally and in written form. 
Sufficient good health to discharge duties properly. 
Willing to submit to a federal criminal background check, as well as a credit, and sexual misconduct background check.
Musical ministry background and an ability to play piano and/or guitar well would be very desirable!
