• It is home to one of the largest U.S. military installations in the country – Fort Bliss, Texas. White Sands Missile Range is close by in New Mexico. El Paso is also a medical hub with dental, medical, and nursing colleges.
Church Profile
• Park Hills Christian Church is a relaxed, conservative congregation with a blended worship style and a heart for missions. We are welcoming and desire to love people where they are. Park Hills has been a place of acceptance and healing for many. It has also been a ‘home away from home’ for numerous military families over the years. The current average weekly attendance is 40-60. Most members are over 50 years of age with only a few younger families and singles.
• We are a church who wants to apply the Bible to everyday life. The Bible is God inspired and we are to adjust to what it teaches rather than twist it to fit into our ideas. We are not a legalistic church. We believe everyone is made in God’s image and therefore valuable as a creation of God. We are welcoming to everyone regardless of background, issues in life, etc. Everyone needs Jesus as Savior and so we present that message, love them, help where needed (spiritual, physical, emotional, etc.) to bring them into a family which may be new to them.
Pastor profile
A pastor coming to Park Hills should be able to cast a vision and provide leadership for the church in a way that trains and enables members to grow spiritually who can, in turn, step up into leadership and discipleship roles. Moreover, a pastor should also be able to work with and benefit from the wisdom, gifts, and experience of the church leadership. He needs to be able to work well with a variety of ages and ethnic groups
Objectives
1. Preaching/Teaching – Park Hills members are accustomed to a variety of preaching styles, but are most familiar with a more relaxed, personal approach. Preaching that is “meaty” spiritually but also connects on a practical level would be ideal. Sermons happen one time on Sunday morning with additional services for Christmas and Easter.

2. Shepherding/Nurturing – Park Hills is currently lead by five elders. These elders (and a few additional members) share the responsibility of visiting the sick and those in need. This shared responsibility should continue. A new pastor should have the responsibility of meeting with the church board monthly. The new pastor should also have regular one-on-one meetings with elders and/or church members to encourage, train, and disciple them.

3. Leadership/Administration – The pastor should be the primary change agent in that he would cast vision and direction for the church. Final decisions would be supported by the church board.
