New Hope Fellowship - Lodgepole, Nebraska
Website: http://
New Hope Fellowship in Lodgepole, Nebraska is seeking an unpaid bi-vocational/co-vocational pastor for our small SBC-affiliated church. We are located in a Village of approximately 325 people in Cheyenne County. A candidate with a completed or in-progress M.Div. from a SBC affiliated seminary is preferred. We expect adherence to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and cooperation with the Great Commission Network (formerly, the Oregon Trail Baptist Association), Church Forward (formerly, the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists) and the SBC. We also cooperate with other area churches through the Chappell-Lodgepole Ministerial Association due to the continual requests for travel assistance from I-80 and jointly support our local food pantry, which distributes food in Chappell. We are seeking a pastor who will commit to living locally and become an active part of the community, willing to serve as the “town pastor” to members of other denominations and as an ongoing witness to current unbelievers.
Lodgepole is located at Exit 76 on I-80, (76 miles from the Wyoming line) and 10 miles north of the Colorado line. The first transcontinental railroad (Union Pacific), the first transcontinental highway (Lincoln Highway, now known as US 30/385), and the Pony Express Route all pass through Lodgepole. Our Village is composed primarily of retired or nearly retired farm related families with a smaller group of commuters to Sidney, our county seat 17 miles west and the former headquarters of Cabela’s. Lodgepole is located within the Creek Valley School District with all instruction occurring in Chappell, the county seat of Deuel County with a population of approximately 900, located about 10 miles east. Many students in the area also commute to Sidney or to the South Platte Schools, located in Big Springs approximately 40 miles east. Local housing is available ranging from small with economical pricing to large with front range pricing.
Sidney has a population of just over 6,000 and is the largest local shopping area. Other shopping is available in the Scottsbluff/Gering area approximately 90 miles northwest, Cheyenne, Wyoming approximately an hour and 45 minutes west, or the Colorado front range, with Ft Collins being the closest at approximately 3 hours southwest.
Please email your resume and references to newhopelodgepole@gmail.com. For further information, please contact our retiring pastor, R. J. Savely, Jr. at 308 483 5088.
