Mission Church – Part-Time Worship Director
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Status: Part-Time (20 hours/week) + Sunday services + special services (Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc.)

Position Overview:
Mission Church is seeking a gospel-centered, Christ-exalting Worship Director who will help shape and lead the gathered worship of our church. This role includes preparing weekly liturgy, leading worship, developing volunteers, managing A/V and livestream systems, and assisting with pastoral and administrative tasks. The Worship Director will help cultivate a worship culture that is doctrinally rich, spiritually warm, musically excellent, and deeply rooted in the gospel.
This position is intended to grow with the church and may expand in responsibility and hours over time.

Key Responsibilities
1. Worship Planning & Liturgy
Plan, write, and prepare weekly gospel-shaped liturgy (Call to Worship, Confession, Assurance, etc.) in collaboration with the Lead Pastor.
Select songs that reflect Mission Church’s “modern-vintage” identity and uphold our commitment to biblically faithful, gospel-rich lyrics. We aim to lead God’s people in songs that are rooted in Scripture, centered on Christ, and consistent with the theological convictions of Mission Church.
Prepare all Sunday service items in Planning Center (order of service, charts, scheduling).
Create and manage Proclaim slide decks each week, coordinating timing and content.

2. Worship Leadership
Lead worship musically most Sundays (vocally + instrumentally, ideally guitar or keys).
Shepherd and spiritually encourage worship volunteers through prayer, care, and intentional discipleship.
Lead rehearsals and ensure the team is prepared musically and spiritually.

3. Volunteer Development & Scheduling
Recruit, develop, and care for band members, vocalists, and A/V volunteers.
Schedule all worship and A/V volunteers through Planning Center.
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and training to volunteers.

4. A/V & Livestream Oversight
Oversee Sunday sound, media, and livestream systems to ensure a smooth and consistent worship gathering.
Train and support volunteers on:
Sound board operation
Proclaim
Camera and livestream software
Troubleshoot issues proactively and maintain equipment as needed.
Work with volunteers to ensure livestream quality and reliability week to week.

5. Administrative & Pastoral Assistance
Assist the Lead Pastor with Sunday preparation, including liturgy coordination and service flow.
Support Planning Center management across teams and ministries.
Help with communication, scheduling, and administrative tasks tied to Sunday gatherings, discipleship nights, or church-wide events.
Participate in staff meetings as needed.
Assist with occasional pastoral care and ministry support appropriate to the role.

Qualifications:
Spiritual & Theological
A growing relationship with Jesus Christ marked by humility, integrity, and teachability.
Alignment with Mission Church’s mission, values, and philosophy of ministry.
Willingness to pursue membership.
A heart for discipleship, God’s Word, and gospel-centered worship.

Musical & Technical:
Strong vocal ability and proficiency on guitar or piano.
Experience leading a band in a church context.
Ability to coach musicians and create a healthy, Christ-centered team culture.
Competence (or willingness to learn quickly) in:
Sound board operation
Proclaim
Live-streaming platforms/software
Basic troubleshooting for A/V and livestream equipment

Leadership & Administrative:
Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
Ability to lead volunteers with clarity, warmth, and encouragement.
Proficiency in Planning Center (or ability to learn quickly).
Able to think ahead, solve problems, and communicate effectively.

Work Schedule:
20 hours/week plus:
All Sunday services
Major services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, etc.)
Occasional special events (worship nights, prayer gatherings)

Compensation: $26,000 annually (part-time)
