The Big Picture
Midvalley Bible Church (midvalleybible.org) is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor who will assist the Senior Pastor in all areas of Pastoral ministry with a focus on Small Group Discipleship, Men’s Ministry and Outreach.

The Church
MBC is looking for a full-time Associate Pastor who will assist the Senior Pastor in all areas of Pastoral ministry with a focus on Small Group Discipleship, Men’s Ministry and Outreach. Midvalley Bible Church began in 1953 as a church plant by Missionary Pastor John Hornok. It is a church with historical IFCA roots and is fully committed to that doctrinal position. Candidates for this position must be willing to defend and promote the IFCA. The church was pastored for 39 years by Ken Hornok who retired in 2013 and since his retirement has been pastored by Douglas Hornok. MBC is an Elder led church with 4 current elders along with the Sr. Pastor and a Deacon Board of 7. The church is debt free and is located in the fastest growing area of the Salt Lake Valley with a 15 year old facility, an auditorium that will seat over 300 and excellent educational facilities. Our church consists of 85 plus families with last year’s giving over $350,000. MBC has a full-time Senior Pastor, part-time Children’s Director, Secretary, Web-master and Building Maintenance.


The Candidate
SKILLS AND STRENGTHS NEEDED
  Teaching. Able to teach effectively in both a congregational and small group setting.
  Relationship-Building. Able to form relationships and encourage others toward relational health.
  Disciple-Making. A heart for the Great Commission with the desire to see people come to faith, grow in greater Christ-likeness, and be equipped to reach others with the gospel.
  Shepherding. A heart for people and for the local church.
  Administration. Able to organize and lead a group of people, assessing strengths and weaknesses and encouraging both individuals and teams to greater personal growth and effectiveness.

The Qualifications
  Personal confession in Jesus Christ as one’s Savior and Lord.
  Submission to Scripture as the authoritative guide in all matters of faith and practice.
 Academic training in the area of Christian theology and ministry.
  Assent to the IFCA doctrinal position.
