Made to Flourish partner churches offer full-time pastoral posts designed to equip emerging church leaders over two to three years. Pastors in these posts are given pastoral leadership responsibility, mentored by senior leaders, and provided a healthy church environment to learn, grow, and shepherd.

We refer to these pastoral posts as “pastoral residencies” because they function similarly to medical residencies. Much like someone trained in medical school serves as a doctor (medical resident) in a teaching hospital, so too someone trained in seminary serves as a pastor (pastoral resident) in a local church. During this time, they actively lead while being intentionally invested in by experienced pastoral leaders and the congregation they serve.

Through our common application, you can apply once and be considered for multiple pastoral posts in churches that are serious about preparing future senior leaders.

Position Description
These roles will vary from church to church, but here’s what you can expect to do at all of them:
- Preach, teach, and shepherd
- Be mentored by seasoned pastors
- Lead initiatives and ministries
- Learn how a healthy church operates from the inside out
- Steward pastoral responsibility without the full weight of senior leadership
