Associate Pastor of Student Ministries

Loma Vista Community Church is seeking a passionate, relational, and organized Associate Pastor
of Student Ministries to lead and disciple Junior High and Senior High students. This role is ideal
for someone who loves students, enjoys teaching, and thrives in a collaborative ministry
environment. This is a high level leadership position who will join our pastoral team and elder board
in shepherding the congregation.
Purpose
To provide sound teaching, spiritual care and discipleship for Student Ministry; to
perform administrative, programmatic, and logistical duties for the Student Ministry; to
assist in pastoral ministry to the congregation at large.
Key Responsibilities
Weekly Ministry Leadership

Lead Junior High and Senior High mid‑week gatherings
Prepare weekly exegetical messages, lessons, and program content
Lead and support the youth worship team
Guide and equip adult and student leaders
Build strong relationships with parents through clear communication
Student Care & Engagement

Follow up with first‑time guests, regular attenders, and missing students
Build disciplining relationships with students
Visit local Junior High and High School campuses
Volunteer & Staff Development

Recruit and train volunteer youth staff
Lead quarterly training and vision meetings
Qualifications
Spiritual & Character Qualifications

Fulfill and maintain the requirements for Pastors and Elders as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and
Titus 1:5-9.
Demonstrates spiritual maturity, integrity, and a commitment to discipleship
Experience & Ministry Skills

Experience working with youth (2+ years preferred)
Strong teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to build strong, healthy relationships with students and families
Proven leadership ability, including recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers
Experience planning and implementing ministry programs, events, or discipleship pathways
Ability to offer basic pastoral care and spiritual guidance
Administrative & Technical Skills

Strong organizational and administrative abilities
Competent with technology, including Microsoft Office, social media, and ministry tools (e.g.,
Planning Center)
Able to manage schedules, track attendance/follow‑up, and coordinate logistics for programs
and events
Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
Seminary degree (completed or in progress) in ministry, theology, biblical studies, or a
related field
Additional training or coursework in youth ministry, counseling, or Christian education is a
plus
