Job Board

Living Stone Church, a Southern Baptist church in Pierce, Colorado, and a congregation of 25 to 30 active members, needs a part-time pastor to lead us in reaching the lost and making disciples in our community. Pierce is located about an hour and half northeast of Denver.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The pastor will be responsible to the congregation to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is expected to provide guidance to the members in daily living, visit the sick, teach and instruct people in search of salvation. He is also expected to be involved in the community, visit the members, and get to know them.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A seminary education is preferred, though the congregation is willing to work with someone pursuing a biblical college education.
• Prior experience is a plus, though leadership is willing to work with and support a new or recent pastor.
• The pastor needs to be a student of the Bible and will likely need to be bi-vocational with other sources of income.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS
• He will plan and conduct worship services with the worship team.
• Prepare and deliver biblical sermons.
• Provide guidance in observance of ordinances.
• Lead the congregation in a program of witnessing, caring for members, visit members, and prospects.
• Work with the Leadership Team in directing the affairs of the church.
• Cooperate with local, state, and national Southern Baptist leaders in matters of mutual interest and concerns.
• When necessary, represent the church in community matters.

COMPENSATION
Salary is to be determined and negotiated. Quarter-time to Part-time 15 to 20 hours a week.
