The Church
Latexo Baptist Church (LBC) of Latexo, TX, is a church family that values biblical preaching, heartfelt worship, and congregational and community engagement and support. LBC was founded in 1900 and has been in 2 locations and at least 3 different buildings since inception. There have been normal cycles of expansion and contraction over the years, with highest attendance rates over 100 for Sunday morning service (mid 1990s). Over the last 10 years we have had two pastors, and the average attendance for Sunday morning consistently averaged between 50 and 55. While the numbers have been steady, the faces have changed. The congregation is made up of a mixture of different age groups and there is a viable and well supported elementary age kids program including a children's church for 4-12 yrs of age. There are also many of the parents of these elementary aged children that are engaged participants in our congregation.


The Big Picture
Latexo Baptist Church, Latexo, TX is seeking a bi-vocational Senior Pastor who will provide spiritual guidance as an Equipper/Pastor/Teacher, who mobilizes the congregation in ministry (Eph. 4:11-12); who keeps the church Purpose/Vision/Mission before the congregation, who guards the flock from false teaching and errant conduct.

Personally:
A self-starter; relationally approachable; self-aware, a life-long learner
Family: married; family embraces his call to ministry
Spiritually:
Meets the character criteria for elders in 1 Tim 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
Endorse without mental reservation the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
Demonstrates gifting in the areas of preaching/teaching and leadership
A warm, growing walk with Christ

Professionally/Educationally:
Prefer at least a Master of Divinity or equivalent.
Ordained by a Southern Baptist Church.
Prefer at least five years experience as lead pastor or equivalent.
Be able to embrace the church’s Purpose/Vision/Mission statements.
Commit to working with the church Ministry Team structure.
Demonstrate capacity to assess and nurture congregational health.

Compensation:
$40,000 – $48,000 Package depending on experience
$24,000 Parsonage — Fair Rental Value including Utilities (Remodeled 2000+, 4BR & 2BA)
