Overview

Immanuel Bible Church (IBC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated College Minister to provide spiritual leadership, vision, and discipleship to our growing college-age community, primarily serving students at UCLA, USC, and CSUN. This role is integral to fostering intergenerational connection within the broader church body and equipping students for a life of faith and service.

Key Responsibilities
Vision & Leadership: Establish and execute the vision and direction for the college ministry.
Teaching & Preaching: Serve as the main teacher for college Sunday school. Assist with Sunday worship by presiding, serving communion, and occasional preaching opportunities for the larger congregation.
Staff & Volunteer Development: Recruit, equip, and provide pastoral care and shepherding to the college ministry volunteer staff. Encourage and train students to serve as effective student leaders.
Campus Presence & Discipleship: Maintain a regular presence on campus (UCLA, USC, etc.) to meet with students, build relationships, and facilitate discipleship.
Administrative Oversight: Manage the ministry's calendar, budget, and general administrative needs.
Plan and coordinate yearly retreats and overnight events (Fall and Winter).
Organize and execute various outreach, inreach, and miscellaneous ministry events.
Church Integration: Facilitate meaningful intergenerational relationships within the church through mentoring, discipleship, and shared ministry opportunities.
Team Collaboration: Regularly attend staff meetings and actively participate in all-church events, such as prayer meetings and retreats.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Must have attended or hold a degree from an accredited graduate-level evangelical seminary.
Theological Alignment: Willingness to submit to and teach in accordance with the doctrines outlined in the IBC membership syllabus.
Character: The candidate must exemplify the Gospel-produced character described in Titus 2 and 1 Timothy 3, demonstrating a life above reproach in speech, conduct, stewardship, and doctrine.
Teaching & Leadership Ability: Must be able to teach the Word of God with clarity and conviction and possess the ability to develop and train emerging leaders.
Spiritual Submission: Willingness to submit to the leadership of the Elders.
Elder Qualification: Must meet regularly with a staff elder as part of the process toward potential Elder qualification.
Work Commitment: This is a 40-hour work week position, requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week in the office across at least three days, with the remaining time dedicated to meetings and campus visitations.
