JOB DESCRIPTION
Role and Responsibilities
The Family Pastor is the pastoral lead providing direct oversight for Children’s and Youth ministries (birth-12th grade)
and for volunteer leaders.
General responsibilities of the position:
 Have a personal relationship with Christ and continue to grow in your faith through personal devotion to
God’s Word, prayer, and seeking the Lord within the church community.
 Cast vision and provide leadership to Guide the Children and Youth ministries of Grace Community Church.
 Provide spiritual oversight to Guard and protect the minds and hearts of the Children and Youth.
 Conduct regular preaching and bible studies to Teach the Children and Youth. This must include Sunday
morning Children’s church, Wednesday evening Children Youth ministries, and Thursday Chapel.
 Work with GCC staff to plan and execute multiple attractional events throughout the year.
 Recruit children and youth ministry volunteers, training them in “Best Practices”.
 Serve as the primary contact for Family Ministries.
 Must attend and participate in all GCC worship and ministry gatherings.
 Must work on-site in multi-staff office environment (minimum of 40 hours per week).
 Must adhere to all GCC personnel policies.
General character and theological requirements of the position:
 Must be in full agreement with GCC statement of faith.
 Must possess a genuine call and sacrificial commitment to Pastoral Ministry at GCC.
 Must possess advanced, professional communication skills.
 Must maintain a lifestyle of obedience to God.
 Must be a visionary and possess the ability to actualize vision.
 Must be a creative problem solver.
 Must have some theological training and in pursuit of an accredited Master of Divinity degree.
 Must possess the ability and desire to lead and strengthen families to know and follow Jesus Christ.
 Must have the knowledge and desire to build community within the church.
 Must have demonstrative habit of learning and teaching others.
 Must attend all church staff meetings.

This position reports to the pastor and Board of Elders.

Grace Community Church Maricopa is a conservative, Bible teaching church devoted to growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

We are a small congregation in the process of revitalization. We have taken intentional, sacrifical steps to reorient our ministries towards our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. This effort has included a significant renovation of our existing facilities, establishing a small K-8 school, and a transformative alignment of all ministries to actualize the mission of the church.

Through all of this, God has been faithful. Our school currently has 36 children and attendance of our worship services increase weekly.

We are a Berean style of church. The pastor is a seminary professor and teaches from the pulpit to glorify Jesus Christ through the building up of the saints.
