The Church
Grace Church of Glendora is located in Southern California. The city of Glendora is a suburb of Los Angeles and is located on historic Route 66. The church initially began in July 1955 with 16 adults meeting for Bible study and prayer in a home. The church grew rapidly and it became clear
that larger church facilities would be needed. The following year, 3 ½ acres were purchased on

Glendora Avenue where Grace is located today. Within five years, six missionaries in five countries were supported by the young church. Over the next several years, expansion projects were begun and the auditorium with seating for approximately 800 worshippers was completed as the church's second decade began. A strong emphasis on evangelism and Christian education was established and new members and growth led to a strong focus on local outreach ministries and global
missions. In 1983, a Spanish-language worship and education ministry began and continues today.

As ministries have continued to expand both locally and globally, Grace Church has kept pace
with the need for expanded facilities and financial support in order to stay ahead of emerging opportunities. Today Grace's commitment to proclaiming the Word of God and salvation by God's grace continues to be central to its ministries. Methods have changed. Buildings and facilities have changed, too, and they will continue to change as long as God continues to bring new opportunities to attract and develop others at Grace.

John Dix, Lead Pastor
John Dix has been on the Grace Church staff team for 23 years, first as associate pastor and then as the Lead Pastor since 2010. He is the seventh lead pastor in Grace Church’s 67-year history. John grew up in Africa as a missionary kid. His parents modeled for him early in life what it means to be a fully committed follower of Christ, and he came to personal faith at a very young age. He received his undergrad degree from Cal Poly Pomona in Business Administration. His ThM is from Dallas Seminary and his and DMin degree is from Biola University. John is passionate about people coming to Christ and living a life that exemplifies Christ’s love for
those in all walks of life who have yet to experience a relationship with God. His leadership style is energetic, collaborative and team oriented. Understanding that the next phase of growth at Grace Church will require continued growth in multi-cultural ministry, Pastor John is committed to
finding the right Associate Pastor of Spanish Language Ministries to partner with him in providing leadership to the whole church and to the Spanish speaking members in particular.
