Now Hiring: Senior Pastor – First Baptist Church of Mascoutah, IL

First Baptist Church of Mascoutah is joyfully seeking the next Senior Pastor God is calling to lead our loving and growing church family! We’re a Christ-centered, Bible-believing congregation with a heart for worship, service, and community. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, an experienced leader, and a faithful steward of God’s Word with a heart for people and discipleship.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide spiritual leadership and cast vision for the church’s future.
* Preach and teach sound doctrine during worship services and other gatherings.
* Lead and supervise church staff and ministry leaders.
* Oversee the administration of ordinances, including baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
* Work closely with deacons, committees, and ministry teams.
* Ensure church operations and finances align with biblical stewardship and legal standards.
* Serve as President of the Corporation to maintain compliance with Illinois nonprofit laws.
Qualifications:
* Must meet biblical pastoral qualifications (e.g., 1 Timothy 3, Acts 6).
* Ordained by a Southern Baptist or church of like faith.
* Seminary education (Master of Divinity preferred).
* Minimum of 2 years related experience (5+ preferred).
* Must pass a criminal background check and adhere to mandated reporting laws.
* Upholds the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message.

* Strong leadership, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
* Able to disciple, equip, and mentor others.
* Comfortable using technology and social media to engage the church and community.
* Emotionally mature and able to navigate challenging or sensitive situations with grace.
