First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks is a 65 yearl old SBC congregation located in Fair Oaks, California with a weekly in-person attendance of about 300. We are serious about Jesus and serious about reaching our community with the gospel. Fair Oaks is a suburb of the greater Sacramento area metroplex, and we are looking to hire our next children’s minister. The only question is… Are you that person?
THE RIGHT FIT
We are looking for a leader (man or woman) with a clear vision and the right gifting to bring fresh ideas, new energy and commitment to this critical ministry at First Baptist. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate good organizational skills, be a self-starter, and exercise humility in their pursuit of being a leader of leaders. He or she will also need to be a person of high moral character with an unquenchable passion to lead the charge in kids ministry.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cast vision and lead a comprehensive children’s ministry program as a part of the overall mission, vision, and values of the First Baptist.
• Develop, plan and lead a world-class, high-energy Sunday morning children's ministry worship service program for children (grades 1-6) that focuses on evangelism and growth.
• Develop, plan and lead the Sunday children’s small group program.
• Develop, plan and lead the children’s discipleship program (currently AWANA).
• Recruit, train, and lead new volunteers to serve in a growing ministry.
• Be active in relationships with parents and children outside of program times.
• Maintain classrooms and venues, keeping them tidy and organized at all times.
• Plan and execute various special events throughout the calendar year that build up the children’s ministry (VBS, Summer Camp, etc.).
• Manage the provided annual children's ministry budget.
REQUIREMENTS
• A demonstrated calling to minister to elementary age children and their families.
• A dynamic, growing relationship with Jesus and the ability to feed your own soul.
• Must agree with the vision, mission, values, and doctrines of First Baptist.
• Be a self-starter and the ability to multi-task.
• Be a problem solver and address issues in a timely manner.
• Be a people person! Must be able to lead volunteers of different generations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Competent computer skills in MS office, Planning Center and worship software.
• Physically able to perform all duties in a fast-paced, high energy environment.

This position reports directly to the Lead Pastor and is a part-time position (25 hours week) with a generous salary for being part-time. This position can become full-time as the ministry grows and the candidate proves themself. This is a golden opportunity for a beginning minister to gain valuable ministry experience and learn in the trenches while being mentored by a seasoned pastoral staff.
