First Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC is a biblically-sound, debt-free, Southern-Baptist congregation with great potential located on nearly 10 acres in center-city Charlotte, North Carolina. Our 762 active members come predominately from a 30-minute radius of uptown and feel called to be a witness in our community and around the world.
We are prayerfully seeking our next Senior Pastor and are pleased to open the nomination/application process. Candidates must be committed to the inerrancy and authority of Scripture, agree with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and seek to passionately lead our church in fulfilling the Great Commission.
We desire a man who is growing in his relationship with the Lord through His unchanging Word and prayer. We desire a shepherd who will lead our congregation in spiritual growth. He must be an effective witness of Jesus Christ and he must also provide leadership in evangelism, outreach and missions.
• We prefer a candidate who holds the office of Senior Pastor or one who has had significant pastoral leadership experience/responsibilities
• We prefer pastoral leadership experience in a diverse, urban church location or one that would otherwise translate well to Charlotte.
• Experience effectively leading a staff/team containing multiple members
• We prefer a candidate who has successfully led a church revitalization effort or who has otherwise seen sustained growth in his tenure.
• Seminary degree required
• Degree from a Southern Baptist seminary preferred
• Preference for candidate with (or working towards) a DMin or PhD.
First Baptist Church is located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina and one of the faster growing metropolitan areas in the nation.
