Why?
Fertile Ground Ranch Discipleship Ministry (FGR) was birthed out of a burden to help those in our community and congregations who have come out of a difficult past or an addictive lifestyle and who feel called to a new life as devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. FGR exists to follow the command of Jesus Christ to be and make disciples. This is based on the Great Commission expressed by Jesus and recorded in Matthew 28:19-20.

The role of the FGR Ministry House Overseer is modeled after men of the Scriptures who were given responsibility to manage the operations of a landowner’s property or wealth in the master’s absence. The FGR Ministry House Overseer enables us to operate daily in more effective ways, to have a more consistent positive influence on the disciples in residence, and to grow in capacity for more men.

Who?
The FGR Ministry House Overseer must be a man who is a sincere, strong Christian, eager to model his walk with Christ to the disciples in residence. He must be willing and available to live on the FGR property for the agreed-upon time period. The Overseer may be employed outside of FGR but should be present at the FGR property all evenings and weekends.

This role will be an opportunity for the Overseer to grow in his faith, to deepen his commitment to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, and to gain experience in ministry work for future career application.

• Firm believer in the supremacy, inerrancy, authority and sufficiency of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:3-5)
• Trustworthy
• Dependable, responsible
• Even tempered
• Teachable, humble
• Theologically aligned with FGR teaching
• Experience with addiction recovery preferred but not required
• Minimum 6-month commitment to FGR; 1 year preferred; open to longer term if appropriate
• Have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle

What?
The FGR Ministry House Overseer will be expected to perform the following duties:
• Hold resident disciples accountable to FGR Code of Conduct.*
• Ensure compliance with all house rules and procedures.
• Oversee the activities of the disciples in residence, including daily schedules and assignments.
• Have physical ability to maintain ministry house and grounds, working with the residents to do so.
• Participate as a student in all biblical teachings, supporting the disciples, as needed, with their study assignments.
• Conduct biblical teaching with resident disciples after appropriate training, if needed, by Ministry Leader.
• Maintain harmony among the residents, reporting to the Ministry Leader all issues that require additional attention.
• Attend church services weekly at the Ministry Leader’s church or at the church where the Overseer has an existing commitment.


Compensation?
Room and board (all food) provided
Salary negotiable depending on Overseer’s situation and FGR budget
Training, as needed, provided by Ministry Leader
