Family Pastor
Fellowship of Champions
Spring, TX USA
Full Time
$55,000 - $75,000 per year
Job Summary
The gospel is to be lived out in all areas of a Christian’s life. For most Christians this starts in the home. The
home has the greatest impact on lives. If we fail to impact the home, we will struggle to make a lasting impact
on people. We are seeking a family pastor, a new position at Fellowship of Champions, that will help infuse a
holistic multi-generational discipleship approach into the cultural DNA of the church. It is our hope that we can
prepare the homes of our church to equip every person in every stage of life to experience more profound
biblical values, practices, and a deeper love for Christ.
Family Pastor Goals
 Build relationships and be engaged in the lives of church members and attenders.
 Equip adults to help the family glorify God throughout the week. This ministry is aimed at helping
strengthen marriages, parenting, and family discipleship.
 In coordination with the Senior Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Children’s Director, prepare a plan for our church
that encourages spiritual development from birth through adulthood.
 Provide (create if necessary) avenues and opportunities for the church curriculum plan to be further
developed and used in homes during the week.
 Ensure that adults and parents are regularly reminded of their God-given role to lead their families by
creating a culture of family ministry.
 Be a coach that helps and encourages parents to walk in faithfulness by developing milestones for families
and helping them achieve them.
Family Pastor Responsibilities
Family or Individual Setting Activities
 Be personally engaged with people by developing personal relationships that lead to providing
encouragement, counseling, in-home teaching, and the development of in-home plans of discipleship.
 Tailor encouragement, counseling, and teaching to the spiritual condition of the people in the family unit.
 Develop and conduct an ongoing program of ministry and counseling to enhance marriages and encourage
single adults, while helping all to serve Christ.
Training or Group Setting Activities
 Create a culture of family ministry through communication channels: Sunday Service, email, Facebook, etc.
 Develop and implement a plan for ongoing parent training and encouragement.
 Encourage inter-generational gatherings to help the church recognize how God is working in the entire
family of God.
 Develop a guide to recommend resources for family devotions and family issues.
Staff and Coordinating Activities
 Work alongside other staff members to ensure alignment of discipleship systems from birth through adults.
 Coordinate plans and activities with other staff members to ensure consistency and balance of plans,
programs, and activities.
 Guide the home group ministry and coordinate discipleship activities in the home groups.
 Encourage ministry leaders to connect regularly to the home so parents experience a clear partnership in
the discipleship of their children.
 Provide mission opportunities so that families may serve and learn together.
 Fulfill additional responsibilities as may be directed by Sr. Pastor.
Qualifications
 Master of Divinity preferred. Other similar education, training and experience may be considered.
 Experience in biblical counseling particularly related to spiritual growth, marriage, and family.
 Experience in pastoral ministry.
 Meets the qualifications of pastors and elders found in 1 Timothy 3.
Attributes
 Highly Relational – Must be able to develop and maintain genuine, positive, and encouraging
relationships with people.
 Team Player – Must be able to work with church staff, elders, and lay leaders to foster and maintain
unity and peace within the body as well as helping the church to fulfill overall goals.
 Family Life Experience – Must have a demonstrated history of exemplifying biblical family life.

needs of the church.
