Senior Pastor – Emmanuel Baptist Church (Rochester, MN)

Emmanuel Baptist Church, located in heart of Rochester, Minnesota, the home of the world famous Mayo Medical Center. Established in 1961, today has an average attendance of more than 75 regular worshipers. We have an online presence from our Facebook page every Sunday. We are an elder-led congregation affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Our church family is prayerfully seeking the man that God is leading to us to be our next Senior Pastor. Our team currently includes a Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and an Administrative Pastor.

The Senior Pastor Position is a Bi-Vocational position like all the pastor positions at EBCRochester. The Senior Pastor provides spiritual leadership and guidance to the elder board, which, in turn, presents decisions to the congregation for final approval. The Senior Pastor serves as the primary spiritual leader, teacher, and shepherd of the church, overseeing biblical instruction, discipleship, and outreach.

EBCRochester is a highly active church. Our members are generous with their time and provide services in Youth Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry and more. We have a Care Portal team that provides much needed assistance to families in the city and surrounding area.

Each summer we participate in Hands of Hope in our community, Vacation Bible School, a Soccer Camp with professional soccer coaches. We gather each Wednesday evening for family time and an evening meal and follow with youth studies and adult Bible studies. We also have regularly planned activities through the year to bring our families and others in the community together. We have an active Spanish church and Lao church that meet in our building and participate in all of our activities.

Primary Responsibilities

Preaching & Teaching
– Plan, prepare, and deliver biblically sound sermons that challenge, encourage, and equip the congregation.
– Lead in administering the Lord’s Supper, baptisms, weddings, and other pastoral duties.

Spiritual Leadership & Oversight

– Provides spiritual oversight, guiding and directing the church in matters of faith with biblical accuracy, wisdom, and integrity.
– Provide pastoral care to members and those seeking guidance, while also encouraging elders to share in this responsibility.
– Lead the church and elders in evangelism and discipleship, fostering a mission-minded culture.

Church Administration & Leadership

– Work alongside the elder board to oversee church decisions and ministries.
– Assist in planning and directing the church’s annual vision and strategy meetings.
– Support and invigorate the various ministries of the church.
– Oversee administrative tasks such as the weekly newsletter, bulletin preparation, and church calendar management.

Community Outreach & Engagement

– Work with elders to actively engage in outreach efforts within the community, seeking to share the Gospel at every opportunity.
– Partner with elders to visit church members and non-members to foster connection and spiritual care.
– Equip church members to recognize and utilize their spiritual gifts in service to Christ.

Qualifications

– Must affirm and adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and Emmanuel Baptist Church’s constitution and bylaws.
– Possesses strong biblical knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for discipleship.
– Able to balance ministry responsibilities while maintaining a bi-vocational role.
