Vision & Purpose

Crossway Church is seeking a Director of Youth Ministries who is called, gifted, and passionate about seeing middle school and high school students grow in their love for Christ and their understanding of the gospel. This role exists to build a thriving, gospel-centered ministry that disciples students toward spiritual maturity and active participation in the life of the church.

The Director will serve under the supervision of the Preaching and Teaching Pastor and the elders, helping to execute Crossway's vision for the local church in the lives of its students and families.

Above all else, we are looking for a man whose life reflects genuine devotion to Christ. He should be:
Gospel-centered, with a heart for students, families, and the lost
Devoted to personal prayer, Scripture study, and ongoing spiritual growth
Managing his household in a manner consistent with the gospel and Word of God
Living with Christ-like integrity and accountable to the elders of the church
Clearly called to youth ministry — not just skilled at it

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Divinity preferred (or actively pursuing one)
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in youth or student ministry
Ability to teach Scripture faithfully and engage students across developmental stages
Ability to build, lead, and develop teams of volunteers
Must be in full agreement with Crossway’s Statement of Faith
Must be (or become) a member of Crossway Church SFV

Core Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Leading
The Director’s primary responsibility is to faithfully teach the Word of God to students and lead them in weekly ministry gatherings. This includes:
Serving as the primary teacher for middle school and high school ministries
Leading weekly youth gatherings with clarity, energy, and gospel-focus
Planning and executing retreats, camps, and special events throughout the year

2. Discipleship & Spiritual Formation
Effective youth ministry goes beyond Sunday gatherings. The Director will:
Disciple students toward spiritual maturity, personal holiness, and gospel understanding
Invest in small group environments that foster deep community and accountability
Encourage students in active participation in the broader life of the church

3. Parent Partnership
We believe the home is the primary place of spiritual formation. The Director will actively:
Build relationships with parents and communicate regularly about ministry direction
Partner with families to reinforce gospel discipleship in the home
Create environments and resources that equip parents to disciple their own children

4. Volunteer Development
A healthy youth ministry is built on a strong team of volunteer leaders. The Director will:
Identify, recruit, and train volunteer youth leaders
Shepherd and support volunteers in their own spiritual growth and ministry effectiveness
Foster a strong sense of community and shared vision among the leadership team
Disciple youth ministry interns in conjunction with the pastors and elders

5. Administration & Stewardship
The Director will ensure the ministry operates with excellence and integrity:
Develop and manage the annual youth ministry plan, budget, and expenses
Ensure appropriate safety policies and procedures are in place and followed
Participate in staff meetings, leadership retreats, and staff development as schedule allows
Complete other tasks or projects as mutually agreed upon with the elders

Compensation & Benefits

Weekly Hours: 15–20 hours per week
Hourly wage: To be determined based on experience and qualifications
Sick Pay: 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (per calendar year)
One week paid vacation
One week paid ministry leave for participation in ministry outside of Crossway (e.g., Mt. Hermon staff, short-term missions)
No medical, dental, or retirement benefits provided
