The Associate Pastor of Crossway Church of the San Fernando Valley is a gifted and called shepherd who serves alongside the Preaching and Teaching Pastor and elders in the pastoral care, teaching, and equipping of the congregation. This position is elder-track, with the expectation that the Associate Pastor will be examined and, Lord willing, installed to the office of elder in due time.

The Associate Pastor will also oversee youth ministries of Crossway Church SFV, including junior high and high school students. While youth ministry is a meaningful area of responsibility, the Associate Pastor’s primary focus is pastoral ministry to the whole church—through Word-centered teaching, discipleship, shepherding, and leadership development—carried out under the oversight and accountability of the elders.

Reports to and assists the Preaching and Teaching Pastor and elders in carrying out the vision of Crossway Church.


Engages broadly in pastoral shepherding, teaching, and discipleship.


Provides leadership and oversight for Youth Ministries as part of a wider pastoral portfolio.


Trains and equips leaders for ministry within the church.


The Associate Pastor must be a man who is gospel-centered and devoted to God, prayer, and the study of His Word, meeting the biblical qualifications for an elder (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9). He must manage his household in a manner consistent with Scripture and the gospel. His priority is personal godliness and faithfulness, with ongoing development of his pastoral gifts and calling. He maintains a lifestyle consistent with sound Christian principles and is accountable to the elders of the church.
