At Chisholm Summit Community Church, we believe the next generation isn’t just the future of the Church; rather, they’re the Church right now. Our student ministry exists to connect teenagers to God and the Church, teach them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, and equip them to go serve and fulfill the great commission, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Position Description:

Chisholm Summit Community Church is located in a vibrant and rapidly growing area of Burleson, TX. Over the next five years, we expect the construction of 3,000 new homes, bringing an additional 10,000 people to our community. We are thrilled about the growth that God is bringing to our area and are seeking a passionate Student Pastor to join us in this exciting new chapter of our church's journey.

This full-time position will be pivotal in envisioning, planning, coordinating, and leading all aspects of our student ministries. The Student Pastor will work within the framework of our church’s vision to create engaging and impactful activities for our youth.

The primary role of the Student Pastor is to cultivate a nurturing environment where students (grades 7th-12th) can discover God, place their saving faith in Jesus, and experience true discipleship as they grow in their relationship with Christ. This role will complement the efforts of parents in the spiritual development of their children, guiding them toward a genuine, lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. We look forward to welcoming a dedicated leader who is eager to invest in the lives of our students and help them grow in their faith.

Qualifications:

Called to Student Ministry – This role should not be seen as a stepping stone to something else, but as a true calling. A student pastor should have a heart for students, a long-term vision for discipling the next generation, and a deep love for walking with young people through their formative years.

Passionate About God’s Word – A strong student pastor should teach Scripture clearly and faithfully, not watering down truth but helping students apply it to real life. They should be eager to help students know the Bible—not just its stories, but its doctrine, worldview, and the character of God.

Theologically Sound and Biblically Faithful – The student pastor should embrace a theology that highlights God's desire for everyone to be saved, acknowledges our responsibility to respond to the Gospel, and focuses on God's love and grace, steering clear of deterministic or limited atonement views. They should be able to clearly and humbly communicate and teach doctrines that align with our church's beliefs and practices (https://www.cscchurch.org/about-us) , always keeping the message centered on the Gospel.

Relational and Approachable – Students need to feel known, heard, and loved. A great student pastor should be available, build trust, and invest relationally—not just run programs. They should partner well with parents and be someone students want to talk to about life and faith.

Spiritually Mature and Humbly Growing – The student pastor should be someone who walks with the Lord, models personal holiness, is quick to repent, and lives a life of integrity both on and off the platform. Their personal devotion should overflow into their leadership. The Student Pastor should be committed to spiritual growth in their personal relationship with the Lord, as well as professional growth by reading books, attending conferences, listening to podcasts, and other opportunities to further their understanding of the needs of students and their families, as well as learn new ideas to engage students.

Committed to team ministry and church unity – The Student Pastor must be a collaborative team player who works in step with the Lead Pastor, staff, and overseers. They should support the overall vision of Chisholm Summit, avoid ministry silos, and lead with humility and unity.
