Central Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a pastor who is called by God to lead our congregation.
Basic Functions:
- The pastor is responsible to the church for providing spiritual and administrative leadership
and pastoral care in meeting the needs of persons in the church and community. In all
aspects, the pastor should strive to fulfill the scriptural tenets of 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
- Actively involved in community activities, which may include Bourbon County Ministerial
Association.
- Support and adhere to Central Baptist Church Declaration of Faith (Constitution Article 3:
Declaration of Faith)
Essential Responsibilities:
- Proclaims and leads the church in proclaiming the gospel to the church and community
- Serves as chairperson of the Church Council
- Provides administrative leadership for the total church program
- Oversees and coordinates ordained and lay leadership in providing the ministry care needs
of the congregation by leading and participating in hospital visitation, home visits and
prospects.
- Provides counseling and referrals
- Leads congregational services; works with staff and others in planning, coordinating, and
evaluating congregational services.
- In conjunction with the Personnel Committee, supervises members of the church staff and provides feedback regarding performance; and participates in the selection of persons to fill vacant staff positions.
- Provides leadership in planning and observing the church ordinances in accordance with established church guidelines.
- Conduct funeral services and wedding ceremonies when appropriate
- Provides counsel and assistance in the selection and training of Deacons. Attends the regular Deacon meetings, provides leadership to enable the active Deacons in carrying out their assigned responsibilities.
- Promotes and provides leadership and support to enable the church to carry out its mission responsibilities locally and around the world.
- Resides in Bourbon County and develops appropriate connections within the community (adhering to personnel policy manual)
