Associate Pastor (Administration & Small Groups)

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Position Overview
The Associate Pastor (Administration & Small Groups) provides leadership in two key areas: overseeing the church’s administrative operations and developing a strong, gospel-centered small group ministry. This role ensures the church functions efficiently while fostering biblical community and discipleship through small groups.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Administrative Leadership
- Oversee church operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in ministry support.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of church initiatives and events.
- Support the Lead Pastor in strategic decision-making and organizational development.
- Help maintain effective internal communication between staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
- Provide oversight to church systems and processes, ensuring clarity and structure in church operations.

2. Small Group Oversight
- Develop a clear strategy for small group discipleship that aligns with the church’s mission.
- Recruit, train, and support small group leaders, providing ongoing coaching and resources.
- Ensure small groups are environments of spiritual growth, prayer, and accountability to foster a culture of biblical community.
- Monitor small group health, engagement, and growth, ensuring effective multiplication.
- Work with the Lead Pastor to integrate small groups into the broader discipleship strategy of the church.

General Pastoral Responsibilities
- Participate in preaching/teaching as needed.
- Provide pastoral care to congregation members.
- Support church-wide initiatives and events as a key leader.
- Be available to attend meetings as needed and contribute to leadership discussions.

Qualifications
- A strong commitment to Christ and agreement with the mission, vision, and theological convictions of Catalyst Church.
- Master’s degree from an accredited seminary (or actively pursuing one).
- Previous experience in church administration and/or small group leadership is preferred.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with a focus on efficiency and structure.
- Effective communication and teaching ability to equip small group leaders and engage with the congregation.
- A shepherd’s heart that demonstrates care for people while leading them in spiritual growth.

Compensation & Commitment
- Salary & benefits are to be discussed based on experience and availability.
- Candidates may need to raise part of their support or serve bi-vocationally, especially in the initial season.
- Expected to model biblical leadership and actively participate in church life.
