300+ in weekend attendance, 600+ membership located in New Mexico's second largest city.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Calvary Baptist Church seeks the person God has called to serve as our full-time Pastor of Student Ministries. We seek a gospel- centered shepherd and servant-hearted leader who meets the characteristics and qualifications detailed below.

Position Overview:
The Pastor of Student Ministries has as a primary responsibility to shepherd the students and youth of our congregation and community toward the person and glory of Christ and obedience to His Word. He will be responsible for executing a long-term vision for student ministry, which is consistent with that of the church as guided by the elder body and Lead Pastor. The person in this role will be committed to the gospel, place value on fostering Christian community, and will set an example for living on mission.
This will include evangelism, edification, discipleship, relationship building, counseling and ministry involvement that serves to attract students and their families to Calvary Baptist Church, and most importantly to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.
The Pastor of Student Ministries will support the ministry vision of the congregation and ministry team. He will collaborate with church staff, elders, and deacons within an atmosphere of servant leadership, personal godliness, Christ-honoring friendship, and excellence. Likewise, his relationship with students and families will exhibit the same qualities.

• Able to follow the leadership of the Spirit and to guide others to change and adapt for the betterment of the ministry.
• Strong advocate for the needs of all young people in our community.
• Leader who is able to oversee a variety of programs within the student ministry, working with lay leaders under his authority to enhance the spiritual growth of our students.
• Ability to speak from a Christian worldview into critical matters that effect a wide range of age demographic, ranging from middle school through college.
• Effective in the proper use of Technology/social media, and design to advance Christ’s Kingdom.
Qualifications:
• Meets the qualifications of an elder as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
• Ability and desire for the task of preaching and teaching congressionally when called upon to do so under the direction of the Lead Pastor
• Bachelor degree in Biblical Studies, or Theology or similar degree, and desire to earn a Master’s Degree in Theology
• Strong sense of call to Student Ministry, and a passion for students and their families
• Ordained by a SBC church or fully qualified for ordination by CBC
• Skilled at cross-cultural, cross-generational ministry within a socioeconomically diverse congregation
• Demonstrated excellence in previous student ministry
• A display of such desirable qualities as teamwork, cooperation, dependability, organization, hard work, respect, and a teachable spirit. Must adhere to strict confidentiality surrounding personal conversations with leadership, students, and families in order to create an atmosphere of trust and mentoring.
• Skilled at mobilizing members and executing strategy
• Gifted communicator in oral, written and digital context
• Previous of experience in youth ministry: Leading student retreats and recreation.
• A commitment to, and agreement with the statements of beliefs of the SBC 2000 Baptist Faith and Message and those of Calvary Baptist Church
• Submission to criminal and financial background checks
Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and direct programs for the students of our church and geographic area promoting spiritual growth and wholesome activity leading to a personal salvation experience, ongoing discipleship, and spiritual maturity.
• Minister to the needs of youth and their families in times of crisis. This includes, but is not limited to hospitalization, deaths of family or friends or other physical, emotional, or spiritual needs.
• Be active in outreach to lost students and their families in our church and community
• Teaching/Preaching: Be the primary voice of Biblical instruction to students.
• Find creative ways for students to participate in the life of the church as a whole
• Teach the importance of both local and international missions in the church.
• Plan mission activities and service projects for students to participate in both locally and abroad
• Be involved in the lives of students through cooperation with the local middle and high schools, as well as NMSU and other schools
• Be aware of social problems concerning students as to better minister to their needs and provide counsel as needed
• Develop programs and provide leadership on Sunday morning, and Wednesday night activities for the youth
• Involve parents and other adults into the overall ministry to the youth. Provide guidance and training for adults working with youth
Compensation: $45,000
This number represents the entire remuneration of compensation allotted to the Student Pastor by the church, which at his discretion will be distributed across the categories of salary, housing allowance, insurances and all other necessary or elected withholdings.

• 1 to 5 year - 2 weeks - 6.67 hours per month.
• 5 to 15 years. - 3 weeks - 10 hours per month
• Over 15 years - 4 weeks -
13.33 hours per month
