This role combines professional barista responsibilities with a heart for ministry, acting as a daily representative of the Gospel through service, hospitality, and intentional presence in the cafe.
About the Role

The Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of the store. This role ensures excellent customer service, a well-trained team, a clean and safe environment, and strong community engagement—all while upholding the mission and standards of The Well CoffeeHouse.

Responsibilities

Store Leadership — Oversee all aspects of daily store operations; set the standard forprofessionalism, attitude, and work ethic.

Customer Service — Model and enforce exceptional service; resolve customer concerns promptlyand professionally.

Training & Development — Recruit, onboard, and continuously train staff on procedures,products, service expectations as well as relationship building with the community providingopportunities for natural Gospel conversations.

Operations & Maintenance — Ensure equipment is maintained, the facility is clean andorganized, and opening/closing procedures are followed.

Health & Safety — Enforce food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and workplace safetyprotocols.

Inventory & Ordering — Monitor stock levels, place orders, receive deliveries, and minimize wastewhile maintianing good relationships with vendors.

Quality Control — Maintain beverage and food quality standards; conduct regular taste andpresentation checks, observe and adjust as needed to provde excellent experiences.

Community Building — Foster a welcoming atmosphere; support events, partnerships, andoutreach aligned with the organization’s mission.

Staffing & Scheduling — Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage whilecontrolling labor costs.

Banking & Cash Handling — Oversee daily cash management, deposits, and financial reportingaccuracy.

Communication — Serve as the primary liaison between ownership, building staff and coffeehouse staff; communicate updates, policies, and feedback clearly.

Ministry & Evangelism — Lead staff in ministry training and evangelism techniques, whilemaintaining a natural setting for building relationships with customers, staff and visitors

Requirements

• Strong faith in Jesus with a passion to share the Gospel to the lost and hurting.

• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in food service orhospitality.

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to train, motivate, and hold team members accountable.

• Working knowledge of food safety regulations and health codes.

• Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and cash handling.

• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Commitment to the mission and values of The Well Coffee House.

• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or hospitality is aplus.
