Summary: This position is responsible for the general maintenance, cleaning, and set up, of the Seminary buildings/housing as directed by the Director of Facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The following duties are considered essential to the job. With or without reasonable accommodation, qualified individuals must have the ability to:
    • •Provide maintenance assistance, including but not limited to: repairs to systems such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, preventative maintenance, etc., as well as assisting with turnovers, carpentry, and sprinkler repairs; painting; cleaning; and repair of other items as needed.
    • •Perform routine checks of control panels, electrical and safety systems for the Seminary.
    • •Provide custodial support when needed by cleaning/vacuuming/mopping floors/carpets/floor mats; dusting and polishing tables/chairs/furniture; and cleaning whiteboards and trays and other items as needed.
    • •Perform custodial assistance when needed by emptying garbage and recycling containers; stocking facilities closets with supplies; checking and replacing restroom supplies; and moving furniture as necessary for cleaning.
    • •Fulfill requests for event set-up and tear down of tables, chairs, and other equipment, moving furniture, as well as cleaning before and after events.
    • •Perform administrative duties by reporting any broken equipment or needed repairs to Director, keeping an inventory of cleaning supplies, and ensuring that supply closets are neat and orderly.
    • • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Trade Experience: Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. Experience using hand and electrical tools. Ability to read technical manuals and architectural drawings. Successful completion of an apprenticeship program in a related field.

Education and/or Experience: At least 18 years old; Must be able to read, speak and understand English to effectively communicate and to safely perform work.

Language Skills: Ability to read and understand safety information and procedures.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide basic numbers and fractions.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to twist, bend, move furniture, equipment, climb stairs, and, lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Other Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by our auto insurance carrier.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Works with and around chemicals.
