Summary:

This position is responsible for providing support to professors in classes with remote access.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The following duties are considered essential to the job. With or without reasonable accommodation, qualified individuals must have the ability to:
    • Use the desktop computer in the classroom to assist professors with presentations, music, etc. as needed or directed.
    • Attend classes as assigned to watch for remote participant questions in Zoom, control the room cameras, and maintain remote access connectivity.
    • Remain attentive to remote participants whenever any are connected to Zoom.
    • Attend assigned classes in person or from a remote location.
    • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: A High School diploma or general education degree (GED). At least 18 years old; Must be able to read, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate and to safely perform work.

Language Skills: English is required. Ability to read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and write simple correspondence. The language spoken in some classes is exclusively Korean or exclusively Mandarin/Chinese. For these classes, applicants need to be bilingual, speaking, and understanding both the language spoken in class and English.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide basic numbers and fractions; Understand weights and American currency.

Other Abilities and Skills: Must be self-motivated; Ability to pay attention to detail and follow directions.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, though moderate noise can occur at meetings and social events. It is a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
