Recruit potential student staff and interns.
Direct training programs within the region.
Participate in missionwide training events.
Student Staff Program
Our student staff program is the largest and most diverse regional student staff program in the mission. It has incredible potential and the role is part trainer, part Young Life leader, part pastor, and part regional liaison. It's an administratively heavy role because of the diversity of the kids and that, for many, it's their first vocational ministry role. You would also be working with area directors on timelines/assignments. Create a pipeline for future staff from the region’s student staff program.
The Los Angeles Summit has been designated to the regional training associate as we view it as a training element for leaders, committee and staff. We always work in teams, but it is largely driven/delegated/coordinated by this role.
We have a monthly cohort gathering for staff associates. This is supplemental training for Leadership 1/Leadership 2 and other elements. It helps keep them on pace for their assignments while building community and expertise around the first few years in the job.
Leader Weekend coordination and planning.
Possible training of area directors/acting area directors through Leadership 1 and 2 if they are the first hire in an area.
Curriculum building for New Leader Training, Work Crew Training, and Discipleship Resources.
Missionwide administration responsibilities for staff that the regional training director would be responsible to lead (training registrations, homework deadlines, commissioning process, etc.).
Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
Develop and administer a regional discipleship weekend for Campaigners.
A deep and growing faith in Jesus.
A call to reach students with the Gospel.
Proven leadership skills.
Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
