Our Church: Redwood Chapel is a non-denominational church with deep roots and a strong legacy in the East Bay Area community of Castro Valley. Our mission as a relational disciple-making church is to “Make and Mature Disciples of Jesus.”

Our Staff: The Ministry Leadership Team of Redwood Chapel works collaboratively with our lay elders to shepherd our congregation and achieve our ministry goals. Pastor Jeff Miller has been leading our team since 2015.

The Position: The student minister will oversee the student ministry (grades 6-12) within the vision and mission of Redwood Chapel. This includes leading, discipling, teaching, organizing, conducting the ministry, and recruiting and training volunteer leaders who will partner with them. Our current ministry meets on Wednesday night for Middle School group and Sunday night for High School group. Additionally, there is an all-student gathering on Sunday mornings at 9:30am before our corporate worship service at 11:00am. Throughout the year the student minister will plan and coordinate social events, camps and retreats, and outreach opportunities for students within our community.

Desired Qualifications: Interested candidates must be called to student ministry, possess a strong relationship with Christ through the spiritual disciplines, be an excellent communicator, be gospel-driven, have experience leading student ministry in a church setting. Additionally, the candidate should possess high moral character (above reproach) and be humble (teachable). A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and a master's degree is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits: This is a full-time exempt position with medical/dental benefits and a competitive salary that factors in education, experience, and cost of living in the Bay Area.

Extra Responsibilities: Since no ministry operates in a silo, it is imperative that the called minister is a team player and is willing to perform other duties as assigned.
