Oasis Baptist Church was founded in the Las Vegas Valley over 65 years ago with an intention to be a Home for the Family. It is our focus to be a welcoming place where families can enter a healthy community for spiritual growth.

Purpose of this Position  

We are seeking to hire a full time combined Student/Worship Pastor who will lead our student ministry as well as our church body in Worship. Someone having integrity, loyalty, honesty, and passion.  
One that would work with the Pastor, church, and church leaders, to lead, develop, expand, and multiply opportunities for spiritual growth for our students and Weekend services.  
One who loves to engage in a team environment, as well as develop others spiritually and in service. 
One who thrives in building teams to lead and guide others.  

 

Responsibilities  

Support the Lead Pastor in the overall vision casting and leadership in the areas of Students and weekend services. 
Expand and develop the current worship, and student ministries at Oasis.  
The ability to identify, recruit, teach, train, spiritually support, and effectively supervise volunteers for Worship and Student ministry.  

Worship Pastor Responsibilities 

Be a part of leading the worship experience from service flow, song selection, lighting, and sound. 
Lead and develop a team of leaders: vocalists, band members, sound, slides, lighting etc.  
Utilize a system for volunteers and services to aid in scheduling and services 

Student Pastor Responsibilities  

Weekly Sunday Night Service (Worship, games, break out sessions, speaking, etc)  
Develop students and young people. Engaging them in leading small groups, lessons, music, elements of the weekly service, students serving throughout the church etc... 
Develop Leadership and Support staff (parents, college students, etc) 
Develop personal relationships with students and parents.  
Camps: Summer Trip, Winter Retreats, DNOW type weekends  
Events with a purpose  
Engage the community of students in our area (local high schools and middle schools etc)  

General Pastoral Responsibilities  

Being a part of the Pastoral staff of Oasis we will all work together in several areas of ministry that will be outside of the scope of any individual job. To include but not limited to 
Outreach strategies for reaching our community. 
Pastoral care such as hospital visits, phone calls, and counseling among other pastoral duties. 
Attend regular Pastoral Staff Meetings and lead regular Development Staff meetings. 
Develop relationships with the Oasis Church Family

To lead, integrate, and develop people of all spiritual walks of life. 
Communication/Teaching: Theologically sound with an ability to communicate spiritual truth in compelling and transformative ways in a Sunday morning service or other areas of ministry.
