Children's Minister

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead children and their families to follow Jesus.
Develop rapport (a relationship characterized by mutual understanding, agreement, empathy, and fellowship) with children and their parents.
Display a Christ-like approach and walk, and pray regularly for families and children in the church and community.
Reach out to families to provide ministry and build relationships:
Coordinate with the Family Ministry Team to strategically engage families of children in the ministry and equip them in the discipleship of their children.
Coach parents on guiding Gospel conversations at home.
Recognize milestones including Family Dedication, welcoming new babies, and adoptions.
Oversee, grow, and coordinate the church’s Children’s Ministry (babies to 6th grade).
Oversee, grow, and coordinate Summer events (e.g. Kids Camp & VBS).
Assist families in providing opportunities to be directly involved in missions and ministry – both locally and outside the community.
Assist in evaluating programs and classroom operations.
Coordinate the enlisting, discipling, training, and motivating of adults to serve and lead in Children’s Ministry.
Communicate weekly and meet regularly with Children’s Ministry Leaders in order to build ownership and equip them to lead other volunteers.
Oversee communication between the church, children, and families.
Provide, oversee, and evaluate the biblical curriculum for all Children’s Ministry classes, programs, and events.
Able to prepare for and lead children’s worship on Sundays, including giving a children’s message.
Coordinate and oversee preschool ministry and needs for church events.
Share program plans through email, flyers, and social media.
Coordinate and implement an annual family ministry budget proposal, and administer that budget as approved by the Stewardship Committee.
Oversee the setup and operation of all related Children’s Ministry environments on Sunday, Wednesday, and special events, including check-in, individual children’s environments, security, check-out, setup, and teardown.
Attend and participate in staff meetings.

Qualifications:
Follower of Jesus
Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3-5 years of Children’s Ministry experience
Ability to meet “Essential Duties and Responsibilities”
