Introduction: First Baptist Church – Santa Fe is seeking an Associate Pastor of Worship and Education. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church, committed to worshipping the triune God and declaring the good news about Jesus Christ in Santa Fe.

We are looking for an Associate Pastor candidate who feels called to:
- Have the biblical qualifications for a pastoral minister in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9;
- Have a ministry of the word and prayer through music and teaching, according to Acts 6:4;
- Believe in Baptist distinctives, congregational polity, and The Baptist Faith & Message;
- Promote unity by creatively bringing together an eclectic array of tastes (choir, band, hymns, and choruses) into one unified voice of worship for the living God;
- Have the heart of a teacher – someone who desires excellence, to help the choir, musicians, and vocalists grow and be challenged in love;
- Have a missions mindset – someone who sees opportunity in Santa Fe for Gospel transformation and will desire to reach the people here;
- Exhibit a spirit of service – organized, prompt, and professional; and
- Be a team player – we are seeking to create a staff that loves and supports each other as a microcosm of the church body.

Scope of Worship Duties:
- Plan, promote and evaluate comprehensive programs of music for the purpose of spiritual growth, worship, and outreach;
- Assist the Pastor in planning worship services and be responsible for selection and arrangement of music;
- Organize a music ministry that grows out of the gifts and abilities of the church that includes: congregational singing, choir, band, musicians, audio and video technicians, and student programs;
- Supervise the maintenance and additions of music materials, music library, supplies, instruments, lighting, and sound systems;
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, worship services, special events of the church; and other denominational activities; and
- Develop and supervise programs to present the gospel and enhance congregational worship by including activities such as drama, visual arts, and special programs like Christmas, the Living Nativity, etc.

Scope of Education Duties:
- Develop discipleship vision with a scope that moves from pre-believer, to conversion, and to active growing disciple with input from Pastor and other ministry leaders;
- Collaborate with the Connection Group Coordinator, Children’s Ministry Coordinator, and other ministry leaders, as appropriate, to develop and expand the education ministry in the areas of age group ministries, outreach, discipleship, Vacation Bible School, and mission organizations;
- Supervise office operations in cooperation with the Pastor and Personnel Committee;
- Be available for pastoral counseling and act as a resource for teachers and leaders; and
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Pastor.
