CrossLife Community Church is a young Southern Baptist Church which began in October 2020. We are also young in the general ages of the congregation. We are in Bay City, Michigan – a city of approximately 32,000 people. There are approximately 103,000 people in the county we are in. We have a membership of 24 and currently have 43 regular attendees at our Sunday worship services.
We currently hold Sunday morning worship service in the chapel of The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission, our local homeless shelter. On Wednesday evenings, we hold group meetings for Youth, Young Adults, and Adults at members’ homes. We are awaiting renovation of our permanent location, a beautiful, historic church building, owned by the Rescue Mission. God has led us to The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission and we see our wonderful relationship with them continuing in the future.
We are a family-oriented church. Our worship services are generally contemporary in nature although we do love the traditional hymns also.
We have been growing in depth and leadership and are ready to grow in number, reach, and impact.
We are prayerfully seeking a bi-vocational pastor to lead our church. As we grow, the position will become full time.


ABOUT THE JOB:
The Senior Pastor will serve as the church’s primary Preacher/Teacher with messages based on Scripture, as the Holy Spirit leads, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry.
The Senior Pastor will shepherd and equip our church family to carry out the five functions of the New Testament church: evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship and worship.
The Senior Pastor will cooperate with the Bay Area Baptist Association, Baptist State Convention of Michigan and the Southern Baptist Convention in matters of mutual interest and concern.
The Senior Pastor will lead the church in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the total program of the church.


ABOUT THE APPLICANT:
We are looking for a man of God, in love with our Savior, who has been called by God to pastor a local church. He must possess the characteristics that the Apostle Paul laid out in his letters to Timothy and Titus. Applicant should have a Southern Baptist background and agree with Southern Baptist doctrine and practices as found in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. It is important to us that our next Pastor maintains his personal and pastoral priorities consistent with the Bible – God, Family, and then Church. The applicant must pass an in-depth background check.
